Laser Annealing

Our Laser Annealing is a permanent marking solution to ferrous metals such as Stainless Steel 316 grade.
The Laser Engraving process produces a dark black permanent marking rated for heavy industrial and outdoor usage.

The Laser burns an oxide layer permanently into the metal surface and is rich black in colour. The surface of the metal remains the same, even level because nothing is removed. The colour change is localised to the laser impact are and has a sharp clear finish. The intense heating during the laser Annealing process penetrates 2- tp 30 um into the mteal surface and the only way it can be removed is to re-heat to a minimum of 700oC

Markings placed on stainless steel are extremely durable and have survived such testing as abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, outdoor exposure, extreme cold, acids, bases and various organic solvents.

Used for permanent and durable markings of logos, bar coding, identification and serialisation.

Laser Annealing is the replacement method for the old Cermark and Thermark laser engraving method that use toxic paste to create the cabon exchnage of the metal surface. Laser Annealing is a safer and more Environmentally friendly process that produces a more consistently black permanent marking.
