Cast Bronze Building Plaques

Lettering and emblems are raised on the surface around 2-3mm. Emblems/images can be 2 or 3 dimensional. Font styles are limited to fonts that will work in the casting process. Very fine fragile lettering not only can fail in the kiln but also won’t read well. 

There is a minimum casting requirement for our plaques lowercase font would need to be 24pts minimum with a kerning of 10 to cast properly.

The standard background colour for cast bronze plaques is brown, commonly chosen for its classic and timeless appearance. However, customised colours—including maroon, green, blue, black, and white—are also available to suit your specific preferences or design requirements. 

Once the plaque is cast and the surface is finished (sanded), the raised elements—such as lettering and emblems—are revealed in a rich, gold-toned finish that contrasts beautifully with the background, creating a striking and elegant result.

We often provide a cheap temporary plaque for ceremonies if there is not enough time to make a plaque for your ceremony. This can be replaced with the real plaque when ready.

Cast bronze plaques are designed to last a lifetime. Over time, the surface naturally develops a rich patina—a result of exposure to the elements, particularly the sun’s ultraviolet rays. This ageing process does not damage the plaque or affect its legibility; instead, it enhances the character and timeless appeal of the bronze. Unlike many engraved products where paint may fade or lift, bronze remains durable and corrosion-resistant, ensuring the inscription remains clear and intact for generations to come.

One of the most secure methods is using hidden studs, which involves drilling holes into the wall surface, applying liquid nails, and inserting the studs into the holes. This technique ensures a strong, clean, and lasting hold as the adhesive sets.

You can also simply use a high-grade silicon like liquid nails and some strong double-sided tape to hold it in place while it sets.

Before starting production, we will provide you with an artwork proof for your review and approval to ensure you’re satisfied with the layout. We offer up to two revisions at no extra cost; any additional revisions will incur a charge.
