This project was a lot of fun and required some careful brushing to get La Bocca Man toned and shaded for the final look.
Etched into supplied slabs of timber and recycled wood, this restaurant signage combines deep sand-carved engraving with hand airbrushed detail to create bold, character-rich artwork. Our Master Craftsman, Ghiath Khalil (“Mr Methodical”), sand-carved the motif using a large-panel pressure-pot blasting rig to achieve crisp edges and consistent depth, then carefully airbrushed the Bull Man illustration for definition and tone.
The result is a durable, tactile sign that celebrates the natural grain while delivering strong, eye-catching branding.
We offer Timber Signs and labels in any type of wood. From thin veneer ply's and Bamboo Sheet to beautiful Australian Hardwoods. Here are a few commonly asked questions.
What types of timber signs do you produce?
We produce custom timber signs for a wide range of applications, including interpretive panels, directional signage, and corporate or community branding. Each piece is tailored to your design and project needs.
We use sustainably sourced Australian Hardwoods, Veneered plywood and Bamboo Board.
What engraving and printing options are available?
Our workshop offers multiple processes including laser engraving, digital printing, sandblast etching, and applied vinyl lettering. This flexibility allows us to achieve anything from fine detail artwork to bold graphic finishes.
Can you work with different timber finishes?
Yes. We can produce on virtually any surface — whether it’s raw timber, stained, lacquered, or pre-finished. Our techniques are designed to work across a wide variety of timbers and finishes without compromising quality.
Do you handle large timber pieces?
Absolutely. Our equipment and experienced team can manage projects of all sizes, from small plaques to large-scale timber panels for architectural or interpretive applications.
Can you supply the timber?
Yes. We can source high-quality timbers such as Australian hardwoods and softwoods, laminates timber veneers, to suit your project. Alternatively, you can provide your own timber, and we will carefully engrave or print onto it.
Are timber signs suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. With appropriate finishing and sealing, timber signs can be prepared for outdoor environments. Natural timber will develop character and patina over time, which many clients see as part of its charm.
Do you provide installation?
Yes. Depending on the project, we can provide professional installation services or prepare signs with easy mounting systems for self-installation.
What is the usual turnaround time?
Standard timber signage projects are typically completed within 2–4 weeks. Larger or highly customised pieces may take longer, and we’ll confirm timeframes at the quoting stage.
How should timber signs be maintained?
Indoor timber signs require only light dusting and occasional polishing. Outdoor signs benefit from periodic re-coating with protective finishes, depending on their level of exposure to sun and weather.
